the thirteenth  1 oz proof whisky • 5 oz Italian lemon soda*

Fill a rocks glass with ice. Add proof whisky and top with Italian lemon soda. Garnish with a lemon slice.

* Our choice is San Pellegrino, but the PC Lemon Frizzante’s and French Sparkling Limonade are both good alternatives,
if you cannot find the original.

We visited Midland, Ontario on the weekend. In the summer months, the Midland area's population grows from 16,000 to over 100,000, with visitors participating in its many outdoor activities – boating, golfing and fishing in the summer and cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter. It’s no surprise for a town that hosts so many tourists to want to highlight its downtown core. King Street, Midland’s main artery begins at the Midland Town Dock and runs through the local business section. The street is lined with a string of eclectic shops, restaurants and historical murals. (most painted by artist Fred Lenz).

Situated at the base of King Street is Scullys, Waterfront Grill. We spent Saturday afternoon on the patio serving Watermelon Mojitos & Mint Divines.

Scullys offers a great menu and has an amazing patio in the picturesque Midland Harbour. Every weekend, they feature live jazz music outside and at night the place turns into a fun summer hangout.

Make sure to visit us at Aquafest this Sunday in Grand Bend. We will be serving Watermelon Mojitos and Mint Divines. (www.grandbendaquafest.ca) August 5, 6 & 7
